THINK OUTSIDE.JOB SUMMARY:Polaris is looking for an ambitious and
experienced High Pressure Die Casting Manufacturing Engineer to
support and provide technical leadership for our die cast
manufacturing facility in Monticello, MN. This facility's casting
operations is comprised of two 2500T machines. The role involves a
wide range of exciting activities with a critical focus on
providing technical leadership for continuous improvement and
future growth of the site.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical leadership to improve existing die cast and
related equipment and processes, and implement new die cast and
related equipment processes.
- Apply diversified knowledge of materials, equipment, tooling
and processing to support new product development.
- Ensure flawless execution of new product introductions and
continuous improvement activities related to die cast
components.
- Document and implement die cast standards and best practices to
enable safety, quality, efficiency, uptime, and cost
effectiveness.
- Research, develop, and support implementation of improved
manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment. Examples of
manufacturing processes could include but are not limited to model
changeovers, pre-built programs, and quality improvements using
APQP methodology and lean initiatives (e.g., mixed model,
containerization, idea board, 5S, one-piece flow, value stream
mapping).
- Maintain and establish relationships with outside tooling
vendors
- Support continuous improvement activities
- Provide tier 3 support to resolve process and cell issues
- Utilize root cause analysis tools for effective problem
solving
- Participate in mold flow analysis activities and assist with
mold design and improvements.EDUCATION, SKILLS, & KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 5 years of die casting experience at a manufacturing
facility required; experience with 2500-ton or larger machines
preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.
- Experience with Buhler Presses, Metal Mechanics Trim Presses,
and ABB robots preferred.
- Experience with High Pressure Die Cast mold flow models and
Magma software preferred
- Understanding of the APQP process, especially FMEA and Control
Plan processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/Solidworks preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint)WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standard manufacturing environment for Die Cast
- Limited travel may be required.#LI-NT1The pay range for
Minnesota is $105,000 to $135,000 per year. Individual salaries are
determined through a wide variety of factors including but not
limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and
