Eau Claire, WI
System One is currently seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer on a 12
month contract position located in Eau Claire, WI.
Mechanical Field Engineer Responsibilities: Electrical and
Mechanical installations, with major equipment already on site
awaiting final foundation work.
Erection of GE7F gas turbines. Installation of 5 Wartsila
reciprocating engines.
Coordination with electrical installations as they are integral to
the mechanical erection process.
Completion of remaining foundations.
Supervising setting and dressing out major equipment.
Commissioning and startup.
Responsible for overseeing the mechanical
Attend morning meetings with the on-site construction manager and
other key personnel to discuss the days objectives, progress and
any potential issues.
Review the status of ongoing mechanical and electrical
installations, focusing on the GE7F gas turbine and Wartsila
reciprocating engines.
Conduct site inspections to ensure that the installation
contractors are adhering to the project specifications and
contractual requirements.
Monitor the progress of foundation work and the setting and
dressing out of major equipment.
Interface with technical representatives from GE and Wartsila to
address any technical queries or issues that arise.
Ensure that the installation contractors are coordinating
effectively with the manufacturers' representatives to facilitate
timely resolution of any technical or contractual issues.
Address any requests for information (RFIs) or other issues that
arise on-site, ensuring they are resolved promptly to avoid
delays.
Work closely with the on-site construction manager to manage
day-to-day logistics and ensure smooth project execution.
Maintain detailed records of daily activities, progress and any
issues encountered.
Prepare reports for project management, highlighting key
achievements, challenges, and any actions taken to resolve
issues.
Participate in coordination meetings with the installation
contractors and suppliers to review progress and plan for the next
steps.
Ensure that all parties are aligned with the project schedule and
contractual obligations.
Conduct a final site walk-through to verify that the days
objectives have been met.
Prepare for the next days activities, ensuring that all necessary
resources and information are in place.
Mechanical Field Engineer Requirements: 10+ years of commissioning
and construction experience, ideally with industrial frame gas
turbines or reciprocating engines.
Previous experience managing contracts and ensuring compliance with
project specifications.
Hands-on site engineering experience, preferably with an original
equipment manufacturer (OEM) like GE or Siemens, or with a
construction contractor.
Proficiency with MS Office and project management software.
Familiarity with technical drawings, manuals, and other
documentation, primarily PDF format.
Ability to quickly and efficiently resolve technical issues on-site
by reaching out to the correct resources and driving solutions to
completion.
Experience with industrial frame gas turbines or reciprocating
engines is highly preferred.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Duration: 12 months
Location: Eau Claire, WI
Pay Rate: $75/hr
