About the Job
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology of the
University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a clinical faculty
member to serve as Director of the HLA/Transplant Immunology
Laboratory. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will
be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have
demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity.
Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the
candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of
developing collaborative or independent, externally funded
research. Faculty will be active in their national organizations
and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents
and faculty.
The University of Minnesota is a large and diverse university and
medical school with a large subspecialty practice plan of over 950
physicians and 1,600 health professionals, University of Minnesota
Physicians. The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is
home to a large number of anatomic and clinical pathology faculty
as well as many basic science faculty involved in research,
undergraduate and graduate education. The department also has an
ACGME approved residency program and eight ACGME approved
