Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coding Advocate to abstract clinical
information and assign appropriate codes to patient records.
Key Responsibilities
Abstract clinical information from medical records and assign
ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes
Work with coding databases and confirm DRG assignments
Input and maintain data for state or other reporting
requirements
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
Associate degree may be required
AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA CCS certification
typically required
4+ years of related experience is usually necessary
Proficiency in multiple specialties of discipline is expected
Additional credentials may be beneficial
