Job Summary Monitor, dispatches, and load balances work orders to
field personnel to utilize field resources safely and efficiently.
Monitors requests for information and provides the communication
link between customer service representatives and field personnel.
Essential Functions
- Monitors daily scheduled orders and daily scheduled field
technician resources to optimize the completion of scheduled orders
within the appointment time with the proper technician to assure
customer satisfaction. When appropriate, reschedules appointments
with customers to their convenience and satisfaction.
- Answers the telephone and if necessary, performs call-ahead
requests for field technicians.
- Routes work to service technicians by dispatching work orders
via Mobile Data and other applicable systems.
- Receives and dispatches subcontractor calls, emergency locates
and addresses customer complaints while ensuring that company
procedures are followed.
- Monitors, prioritizes work orders and reroutes if needed.
- Acts as liaison between the company, customers, and state and
local government agencies in an emergency as backup to the
Emergency Dispatch Center.
- Monitors condition and status of dispatched orders, initiates
and implements Business Continuity Plan in accordance with
CenterPoint Energy Emergency Plan to ensure the safety of
employees, public, and property, and to ensure the most expedient
and efficient response to all situations. Education Description
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred associate degree and/or relevant experience as
described in the main accountabilities. Experience
- Requires one (1) year experience in/or supporting utility
distribution operations or at least one (1) year of dispatching
experience.
- Preferred experience in the utility industry, customer service,
dispatch, scheduling, or field operations in a 24x7 regulated
environment. Physical Requirements
- Able to communicate orally in a clear manner.
- Able to hear oral communication either in person or on
equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.
- Able to view a personal computer monitor or laptop screen for
extended periods of time.
- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop,
for extended periods of time creating, composing, and reviewing
documents and spreadsheets
- Able to operate office equipment, including telephone, mobile
phone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and calculator.
- Able to reach, grasp and move items.
- Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a
minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or
otherwise move objects. Working Conditions
- Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT
safety sensitive positions.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of
daily pressure, while meeting deadlines.
- Able to work rotating shifts, on call and overtime shifts as
necessary to meet needs of business.
- Able to work indoors in an office environment, regardless of
whether cubicle, open office, or private office.
- Willing to travel for various functions, meetings and other
company related commitments and stay overnight as required.
- May be required to remain in the service area during emergency
events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide

to Minnesota and the pay rate negotiated in the applicable
