Nexus Family Healing is looking to hire an Associate Executive
Director to join our newest youth crisis and stabilization center
set to open in summer 2025 in Hennepin County!This new youth crisis
and stabilization center is a 13-bed, short-term residential
service for Hennepin County youth with complex mental and
behavioral health issues looking for appropriate care. The service
will help to reduce the number of youth who are stuck in
inappropriate care settings such as emergency rooms, police
stations, juvenile detention or unstable home situations and
provide treatment and therapeutic supports while triage,
assessment, and transition planning take place with
families.Schedule/Pay/Location:
- Full-time onsite opportunity

is responsible for providing leadership, engaging in growth and
development activities to ensure long-term agency viability, and
ensuring operational, budgetary, and service effectiveness of Nexus
within applicable rules and standards of the organization, as well
as internal and external stakeholder expectations.Primary
Responsibilities:Agency Strategic Planning & Standards
- Leads agency strategic planning efforts and works toward,
communicates, and attains stated goals for agency growth
development and improvement needs; manages the operational
procedures for the agency.
- Adjusts and supports leading the agency's strategic planning
process, execution and achievement of relevant goals and
strategies, while integrating Nexus organizational
initiatives.
- Supports company initiatives and objectives and leads expansion
and growth initiatives to ensure viability.
- Initiates contracts as needed; reviews, negotiates, and
supervises compliance with the service agreements and
contracts.
- Oversees the support elements of the agency, such as billing,
office administration, and quality assurance, ensuring the
necessary supplies and resources are maintained for agency
structure and safe functioning.Agency Oversight & Leadership
- Provides leadership that maintains positive staff morale,
ensures an effective training program, and ensures that
program/department leaders are effective in their leadership and
development of employees.
- Actively participates in the interview and selection process,
as needed, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Supervises assigned staff ensuring accountability and
utilization of professional development opportunities, to grow
staff skills and ensure that the agency is operating according to
licensing guidelines.
- Participates in the onboarding of senior leadership ensuring
that they are properly trained to be effective in their respective
roles and duties.
- Conducts regular formal performance evaluations for supervisees
and ensures timeliness of all evaluations being conducted across
the agency; provides meaningful performance feedback to
employees.
- Demonstrates a commitment to staff development and fosters an
environment of courtesy and respect to maintain employee
engagement, commitment, contribution, and retention.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of positive relations
with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures the proper supervision procedures are established and
occurring by other leaders on a consistent basis and that
appropriate documentation is completed.
- Unites employees around their connection to the organization
and creates positive engagement between assigned services,
departments, and supporting one voice/brand nationwide.Financial
Oversight, Risk Mitigation
- Supports a risk management culture in which key organization
and agency performance indicators are routinely identified,
monitored, and improved.
- Supports and oversees continuous quality assurance efforts
(i.e., satisfaction surveys, staff exit interviews, risk & outcomes
data) and ensures quality and timeliness of the reports to internal
and external stakeholders.
- Provides back-up for reviewing and signing off on incident
reviews as needed while reviewing and signing off on any internal
investigations and critical incident reviews to ensure higher level
leadership review.
- Maintains appropriate census and budget/expenses, to ensure the
agency's budgetary goals are achieved.
- Participates in the budget development process and manages the
current agency budget; collaborates with finance personnel with
timely submissions and responses.
- Ensures that referrals are managed effectively to meet census
requirements overseeing the safety of youth.
- Approves all major expenditures and be aware of and agree to
the systems in place that manage minor expenditures; seeks
opportunities to improve or expand services to grow the
organization.Agency Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborates and designs systems with Finance, Human Resources,
and Information Technology to ensure that the agency has the
support resources that they need and that the agency is responding
to internal requests and expectations from support
departments.
- Maintains appropriate systems to effectively manage and control
expenses, making adjustments as necessary to maintain the agency as
planned.
- Manages the creation and revision of policies and procedures
according to licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and
company practices and standards.
- Exceeds standards for accreditation and licensing and ensures
that the agency maintains all regulatory licensing and certificates
as needed for operations. Coordinates internal and external audits,
licensing reviews, and agency visits by stakeholders.
- Collaborates with company leadership in evaluating long-term
changes that support the therapeutic treatment process.Agency
Policy, Procedure, Compliance & Training
- Oversees all agency policies, procedures, licensing, and
regulatory compliance and effectively manages risk, safety, and the
proper review and submission of incident reviews and data.
- Ensures confidentiality regarding clients' issues, background
and treatment and comply with company policies involving privacy
and confidentiality rules for clients and their families.
- Serves as a representative of the organization in public
relation situations including professional gatherings.
- Actively looks for ways to expand and grow services through
agency innovation to enhance better outcomes and impact, while
responding to opportunities to grow services and participate in new
program/department design.
- Understands and accepts the broader responsibility to the
organization's success and ensures staff complies in a timely way
with policies, procedures, requests, and expectations generated
from the corporate office.
- Actively supports and promotes the concept of "organizational
citizenship" in which staff recognizes they are a part of the
larger company organization in which they have both rights and
responsibilities.
- Remains current on all company policies, assigned trainings
and/or certification requirements.
- Develops and maintain healthy relationships and appropriate
boundaries with clients, families and employees and exhibit a high
degree of ethical conduct, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Continually seeks knowledge and exhibit an understanding and
acceptance of differences in gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity,
class, religion, and disability to better appreciate staff and
clients within the agency as well as in dealing with all
individuals with whom the agency serves.Required Education and
Licensure:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy,
Counseling, Psychology, Clinically related or Human Services field
with licensing preferred; a combination of business, education, or
leadership program Master's degree with direct, related experience
will be considered.
- 5+ years of related experience working with youth or families
in a clinical, social services, or educational setting.
- 2+ years of related leadership experience.
- Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating
agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements.Preferred
Education and Experience:
- Additional years of related and supervisory experience
- Previous experience managing program budgets, setting program
or department goals and objectives, and providing strategic
direction to othersWork Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+
pounds with assistance
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
(2-4 hours)
- Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive
to the execution of daily activities
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as
desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphonesAt
