Right now, we are looking for an experienced Program Engineering
Manager to join us.The Mk 45 International Program Engineering
Manager (PEM) is a hybrid position at our Minneapolis, MN site with
responsibility for Mk 45 product line expansion opportunities for
the Mk 45 Mod 4 gun system, the Mk 45 Ammunition Handling System
(AHS), and the Mk 45 Common Control System (CCS), and Mk 45
ammunition-related expansion opportunities including Precision
Guided Munitions (PGM).As the Mk 45 International PEM, you will
ensure that all Mk 45 capture efforts are fully supported by the
engineering organization. You will support Business Development in
identification and assessment of emerging international
opportunities. You will assist Capture Management with proposals,
acting as the key technical point of contact on the capture team.
You will help Program Management plan for and transition winning
proposals to program implementation. For current and future Mk 45
CCS programs, you will act as PEM through contract completion.The
Mk 45 International PEM will provide guidance and leadership for
all technical activities during the capture phase and, where
applicable, execution phases of the program including:
- In concert with Business Development and Capture Management,
and utilizing the MK 45 Product Roadmap, develop business winning
and capture strategies to maximize probability of win (Pwin) and
enhance Mk 45 product line growth.
- Relationship building efforts with technical counterparts in
the US and partner nations.
- Development of Mk 45 gun, ammunition handling, and storage
concept solutions on new platforms.
- Definition of Mk 45 system solution mechanical, electrical, and
logical interfaces on new platforms.
- Evaluation of customer technical requirements.
- Definition and planning of technical scope.
- Development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for technical
scope.
- Implementation of a program risk and opportunity management
plan.
- Evaluation of proposals for cost, schedule, and technical
scope.
- Planning for program execution, including development of
program engineering plans, resource planning, and Life Cycle
Management (LCM) planning.
- Transition from capture to development and implementation of
the program baseline and establish the program engineering
team.
- Completion of all technical scope in accordance with the
program baseline.Primary duties include:
- Provide technical support of Mk 45 business development and
capture efforts.
- Develop technical solutions that meet customer
requirements.
- Build and guide cross-functional engineering teams.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures and BOEs.
- Ensure adherence to engineering processes and concepts during
capture efforts, and adequately plan and fund in anticipation of
program award.
- Application of system engineering and design processes through
all phases of the program.
- Ensure project and product safety are considered in accordance
with company policies through all phases of the program.
- Plan and direct Life Cycle Management (LCM) through all phases
of the program.
- Motivate, evaluate, and mentor engineering staff.
- Plan for and complete program transition from capture to
execution phases.
- Build and guide engineering teams to deliver program technical
scope in accordance with cost and schedule requirements.
- Ensure robust and consistent Program Monitoring and Controls
(PM&C) are used by the engineering team to monitor and maintain
program scope, budget, and schedule.
- Ensure engineering products and services meet customer
requirements and company standards.
- Provide consistent and timely communications of program status,
issues, plans, and progress to the Guns PEM, Program Managers,
Engineering staff, and customer stakeholders.
- Presentations to management, customers, and stakeholders in
marketing, cost and schedule, technical and contractual status. In
many cases customer meetings will require international
travel.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline and 10
years of engineering/technical experience.
- Able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams to
address technical issues associated with complex weapon
systems.
- Demonstrated experience driving technical decisions using sound
understanding of engineering fundamentals (or concepts).
- Effective communication through technical writing and technical
presentations.
- Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management
and relationship building.
- Able to work a hybrid schedule, with > 66% time in the
office at the BAE Systems Minneapolis site.
- Approximately 10% travel is expected to include international
travel.
- May consider candidates who do not meet all the above
requirements for a more junior role.Preferred Education,
Experience, & Skills
- Mk 45 and/or related product knowledge and experience.
- Experience overseeing projects using EVMS.
- Current Secret Clearance.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:
$140690 - $239140Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
