drawings, performs layout, marking, cutting, welding and finishing
of stainless-steel components such as tanks, frames, ducting and
other geometric and structural shapes of various sizes.ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the
following:
- Marks, cuts, fits, clamps and tack welds parts, to secure
proper position per technical drawings.
- Welds to specifications in a variety of welding processes, on a
wide variety of joint configurations while working in positions
both internal and external to the component on dissimilar material
thicknesses.
- Produces a weldment from numerous components to a completed
product.
- Safely operates a variety of hoisting and rigging
equipment.
- Operates MIG, TIG and GMAW machines as well as plasma cutting
torches.
- Works primarily with stainless steel parts and assemblies which
at times can be generally described as large, heavy, bulky or
awkward.
- Interprets and performs tasks such as layout, cutting and
welding based on written work instructions and weld symbols. Must
understand and comply with workmanship standards and work
independently as needed.
- Obtains proper fusion using care to perform a high quality,
consistent weld, avoid unnecessary weld spatter, burn through,
crystallization or distortion.
- Interprets fabrication drawings, bills of material and is able
to make calculations and check for compliance to
specifications.
- Polishes, grinds and cleans metal surfaces and welds are
required.
- Operates hand trucks, carts, pallet trucks and hoists for
movement of materials.
- Detects defective material, unusual conditions or operating
difficulties and reports to appropriate lead or supervisor.
- Adheres to company safety policies, procedural guidelines and
works in a consistently safe manner.
- Actively participates in company continuous improvement
initiatives.
- Completes tasks as assigned.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have classroom weld training or demonstrated welding
experience with relevant welding processes. Degree or certificate
from technical welding school is preferred.
- Must have good blueprint reading skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.The
